This New Accounts Representative/Switchboard Operator is often customers' first contact with the branch. This position is important to make visitors and callers feel welcome by tone and demeanor and to best assist by being knowledgeable about Bank products and services to discern customer needs. 

Qualifications - MUST MEET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION FOR EMPLOYMENT
* New accounts experience is preferred although other banking experience would be considered based on longevity and job performance. 
* A steady work history and at least one year customer service experience in any industry is required. 
* A working knowledge of time deposits and IRAs would be helpful. 
* Knowledge of Horizon would be ideal.
* Essential skills include a working knowledge of Word for pre-established letters, moderate computer skills; math and reasoning abilities.
* Necessary skills include organizational and the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines, multi-tasking and the ability to focus in an open environment with the expectation of interruptions, initiative, communications (verbal, written and interpersonal) and the ability to helpfully offer assistance to others. 
*Learned skills will be knowledge of Bank products and services to evaluate customer needs and assist with questions.
*Must be able to consistently work a required assigned schedule and be punctual.
*Must present oneself professionally in dress and demeanor, be friendly and speak clearly on the phone and in person. An outgoing personality with a readiness to smile is important. 

Responsibilities – To greet customers in person and by phone knowledgeably and with friendliness, to understand new accounts procedures, clear exceptions in compliance with regulatory guidelines; take debit card applications, perform account maintenance; and to speak knowledgeably about Online Banking, Bill Pay and Mobile Banking. Must be familiar with Bank employees and their jobs to properly connect a caller through the switchboard with the appropriate person. Other responsibilities could include check orders, assisting with or serving as loan support, scanning paperwork and other as assigned. 

Expectations are to perform all job duties and other responsibilities as assigned and to follow all safety rules and regulations.
Regular attendance according to the work schedule is necessary and essential as is receiving detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone. Extensive reading and computer use is expected the majority of the time.
