Operating Hours 
Lobby 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, to 5 p.m. Friday
Drive Through 8 am. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, to 5 p.m. Friday
Required report time by 7:45 a.m. DAILY.

A Teller is the critical link between the Bank and customers and carries many responsibilities. A successful teller understands the variety of service functions and recognizes the importance of providing excellent customer service by understanding the job requirements and has the knowledge and understanding to confidently advise customers about Bank products and services.  

Qualifications   ONLY THOSE WHO MEET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR EMPLOYMENT
* ONE YEAR minimum cash handling and direct customer service experience is preferred. Teller experience would be ideal. 
* Experience with Horizon would be a plus.
* A working knowledge of debits and credits and general accounting skills is desired.  
* MUST be able to consistently work a required assigned schedule and be punctual. 
* The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic and the motivation to grow in a banking career.
* Necessary skills include organizational, interpersonal, the ability to communicate effectively and to work independently per Bank policy/procedures.
* Must present oneself professionally in dress and demeanor and be friendly;
* Essential skills include an aptitude for basic math and problem-solving skills. 

A successful Teller reads at a level sufficient to understand memos, instructions and teller-related forms; communicates clearly verbally in person, by phone and in writing; relates tactfully, professionally and respectfully with co-workers and customers; understands and can perform basic math daily; efficiently works alone or in a team environment; manages time constraints; and independently uses good judgment in following policy and procedures.

Primary Objective To take care of customers' banking needs with concern and knowledge of Bank products and services and to accurately perform teller duties according to practice and procedure in a team-oriented environment (i.e. work in harmony with everyone). ALL responsibilities and duties require strict adherence to applicable federal and state rule and regulations and Bank policy and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities To balance cash and negotiable items daily after the course of accepting deposits of cash and/or checks; process withdrawals and cash checks up to a designated limit; accept loan payments of any type; redeem cash items for deposit or cash; process cash advances on credit/debit cards; have a general knowledge of products and services to answer customer questions; sell official checks, bank money orders and travelers checks (if offered); to know and understand the requirements of and how to complete Current Transaction Reports (CTRs); promote bank services and cross-sell bank products through referrals; operate network computers/software and other equipment necessary to complete a transaction; participate in on-going training; be aware of competitor bank services and advantages of banking with First State Bank; to be aware of and recognize when to report suspicious transactions/activity/situations to the appropriate personnel; and participate in the general upkeep and appearance of the branch. Tellers are expected to understand and abide by the employee handbook and Bank security, policies and procedures.  

Secondary Responsibilities Potentially combination and/or key control; opening and processing night depository and ATM; control of negotiable instruments and any other as assigned.

Expectations are to perform all job duties and other responsibilities as assigned and to follow all safety rules and regulations.

Regular attendance according to the work schedule is necessary and essential as is receiving detailed information verbally, in person and by telephone. Extensive reading and computer use is expected the majority of the time.
